When considering the type of fish to keep it is important to consider three things:

1/ What size is your aquarium?

Will your chosen fish fit happily?

Obviously, there's no point in having a fish which grows to 2 feet in a one foot aquarium.  So it's important to match the final size of your fish to the aquarium.  In our rental aquariums section you will see suggestions of which fish we recommend for which aquariums. Alternatively, if you have a particular fish in mind but you are not sure which aquarium would suit it just ask.

2/ Who are the audience and how far away are they?

If the audience is close to the aquarium then small fish are ideal.  If the audience is a few meters away, for example behind a bar then choose larger fish. Young children don't see small fish so for a young audience pick something large, slow moving and colourful. 

Coldwater fish are the ideal low maintenance option requiring attention on a two monthly basis
