NEWS This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site and other company news. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first. January 2010: with the closing of our reptile section to make more room for tanks we are once again a 100% aquatic centre! January 2010: A big welcome back to Lynsay our shop manager after her break for maternity leave. December 2009: Ultimate Aquatics has joined the ACME group of companies and we look forward to benefiting from their experience in the US pet trade. September 2009: For the 8th year in a row we've just been voted runner up for best in Scotland by the readers of PFK. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. October 2008: Thanks to our customers and the readers of Practical fish keeping we've been voted best in Scotland again this year. Thanks to all those who made this possible. September 2007: Ultimate Aquatics have once again been voted best in Scotland. Many thanks to all our customers. September 2006: We've been voted best aquatic shop in Scotland for the 5th year in a row; many thanks to all those who voted for us. Feb 2006 New website development starts at www.ultimate-aquatics.com October 2005 We have been voted best aquatic shop in Scotland by the readers of Practical Fish Keeping for the Fourth year in a row. September 2005 New marine section opens July 2005 Work starts on another 100 marine tanks in the fish rooms January 2005 New aquarium displays setup September 2004 We have been voted best aquatic shop in Scotland by the readers of Practical Fish keeping for the third year in a row. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. April 2004 Ultimate Aquatics is proud to report that we have been appointed as a Seachem Select Dealer. We are currently the only shop in Scotland to have achieved this. Mar 2004 Our new live rock holding facility is finished and we can no hold and cure over 1 tonne of live rock at a time! October 2003 For the second year running we have been voted best aquatic retailer in the UK by the readers of Practical Fish keeping, a big thank you to everyone who voted for us! September 2003 The new quarantine building is up and running. June 2003 Kitting out of the new building has started. Tanks, tanks and more tanks! After last time I'm sure we said that we would never do this again! May 2003 Negotiations have been finalised on our new building. Kitting out should start on June 1st after the building works are finished. April 2003 Its official, we have run out of room. A year after adding on our third building we are at it again. Due to increased demand we need more room for our quarantine facility and the coral farm. We have our eye on a building just across the road so watch this space! March 2003 Our new Juwel Display has arrived, we now have one of each style of Juwel Aquarium on display in the shop. September 2002 The new freshwater quarantine system is up and running. We now import all our own tropical fish and quarantine them on site. This will give us total quality control and the ability to treat every fish we sell for whitespot prior to sale. August 2002 The Deltec display tank is now stocked up and looking lovely. July 2002 Our Deltec display tank arrived early, yes we know all the jokes about German efficiency! June 2002 We are now Scotland's sole Deltec Aquarium dealer, our display tank should arrive in August. May 2002 New E-commerce site running at http://www.ultimateaquatics.co.uk May 2002 New fish room open! April 2002 The new fish room is now being stocked up and should be open shortly. This will put us at just under 500 tropical tanks and 100 marine tanks. March 2002 The final straw has been reached with business serve after crashing our e-commerce site for a fortnight! We are moving the site clara.net. February 2001 e-Commerce site up and running. September 2000 Temporary website uploaded and registered. July-August 2000 Temporary website to be gradually enhanced. June 30th 2000 Temporary Ultimate Discount Aquatics website goes live.
