Thailand to me is most famous for 'The bridge over the river Kwai'. There is a problem with the bridge over the river Kai (Kwae), because it doesn't or rather didn't go over the river kwai at all!  When Pierre Boule wrote his his book he made a mistake, the "Death Railway" famously built by the POW's runs alongside the Kwai but doesn't cross it.  Instead it crosses the river Mae Khlung.  But being cleverer than the average tourist and fed up of all the confusion the locals just renamed the whole river!  Its not the Mae Khlung anymore now its the Kwae Yai (Big Kwae river) so now its the bridge over the river Kwai again.

Thailand offers mostly farmed fish such as guppies and other livebearers and discus, and some lovely local wild fish.

Thailand is also the home of one of the oddest fish products ever, anyone for a jar of pickled Gourami paste?
